We will be hiring one Camp Coordinator for our Muskoka Programs (What Wake Park) and one for our Collingwood Programs (Wake Hui Collingwood Cable). Learn all the details of this position below.
The Camp Coordinator will work at Kid and Youth Day Camps, with campers between the ages of 8-17. They will be responsible for organising and overseeing the daily site set up, run camp activities, and clean up the site at the end of each day. The Coordinator will meet and greet parents at the start of each camp day during drop off and at the end for camper pick up. The Coordinator will also have the responsibility of creating and running various team building activities, beach and water games, and the craft centre. The Coordinator will be supervising our staff and campers on an ongoing basis throughout their camp experiences. The Coordinator will prepare and serve the daily snacks and lunch during our mid-day break. They will also be responsible at the end of the day to ensure all equipment, activities, crafts, and the food prep areas are cleaned and organized for the following day.
The Camp Coordinator will also be in charge of these same activities for our not-for-profit Ride Days, for underprivileged youth. The Coordinator will be an integral resource during these activities as they will build relationships and trust with these youth to help them overcome their fears in moving out of their comfort zone as they try a new sport and learn new physical and leadership skills.
The Coordinator role plays an integral role for our Camp Leaders and Leader In Training (LITs) volunteers. They will serve as a Mentor to our Camp Leaders and LITs to help them build their job specific and transferable skills. They will be conducting daily debriefs with these staff members to ensure timely feedback is available to help increase their effectiveness in their roles as well as maintain the highest quality camp experiences for our campers and their families.
